At the Premier’s VCE Awards in July 2023, Victoria’s best and brightest students from 2022 were recognised and applauded for their hard work.

The awards, held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Thursday 27 July 2023, brought together 300 student award winners, their family members, education professionals and special guests to celebrate their success across 88 different subjects.

Among the 331 awards given on the day were 294 Study Awards, 34 Top All-Round VCE High Achiever Awards and 3 Top International Student Awards.

Finishing the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) is a huge step for thousands of students across the state – and the annual awards provide a wonderful celebration of their efforts and dedication as they take their next steps after Year 12.

The students honoured on the day performed at the top of the state academically in one or more subjects.

Recognising our inspirational students

Minister for Education the Hon Natalie Hutchins MP congratulated our highest VCE achievers, which included a saxophonist from Rowville Secondary College now studying music at Monash University and a Melbourne High School student who was inspired by the pandemic to study medicine.

A student from Mallacoota P-12 College who founded a local ‘youth sanctuary’ for young people to connect and find support in the wake of the 2020–21 Black Summer bushfires was also recognised for their efforts.

These students demonstrated the commitment, adaptability and excellence that was so common to the award winners recognised on the day. Congratulations to all those students recognised for their wonderful achievements.
