Melbourne City FC delivers community programs through its charitable arm, City in The Community (CiTC). Using the power of football (soccer), CITC works with young people and schools to deliver programs that create healthy people, healthy communities and healthy futures. Sessions in the classroom and on the pitch focus on leadership, respect and teamwork, with potential pathways to further education and employment.
Program description
Delivered by Melbourne City FC’s City in the Community (CITC), Immersion Days are one-day, in-school excursion experiences held at the City Football Academy.
The program connects sport, learning and future pathways through engaging, real-world experiences.
Students visit a professional football environment and take part in activities designed to build confidence, teamwork and awareness of future opportunities.
What’s included:
- Guided tour of the City Football Academy
- Watch A-League training and hear from players and coaches
- Football coaching and practical skill sessions
- Workshops on leadership and teamwork
- Insights into careers in sport and education pathways
- Q&A sessions with club staff
- Reflection activities linking learning to personal development

The program is supported by graduates of CITC’s Young Leaders program, who act as relatable mentors and positive role models.
