Working with schools and local communities, our programs uniquely embed police and emergency services as trusted partners and promote positive relationships.
Program description
Frontline is an interactive full-day program for secondary students in Years 7 – 10 (single year level delivery).
Supported by Blue Light Victoria facilitators and delivered in partnership with local police and emergency services, the program helps students think about what safety means in their lives and communities. It also builds pro-social skills, positive participation, and stronger engagement with school.
Students move through several interactive stations throughout the day, led by local police, emergency services and Blue Light Victoria staff. Police and emergency services lead activities, mentor students and support reflection.
The program encourages students to:
- understand their role in the community
- see themselves as active and valued community members, and
- contribute positively to the wellbeing of others.
Stations include:
- physical and challenge-based activities (e.g. fitness tests, speed/radar challenges),
- problem-solving and teamwork challenges (e.g. UV light or invisible ink puzzles), and
- discussions using real-life situations about safety, decision-making, and community roles.
Students also take part in facilitated group discussions and reflection between stations. These discussions help support learning and connections.
