Leading blended learning for teachers

The Leading Blended Learning (LBL) teacher course is a professional learning opportunity for teachers.

The Leading Blended Learning (LBL) teacher course is a professional learning opportunity for teachers.

It seeks to enhance the capability of teachers by supporting them in how to best design, facilitate and assess in a virtual and/or blended learning environment.

The course is delivered in partnership between the department and Monash University.

About the course

The course will focus on teaching in the classroom in a virtual and blended learning environment. It follows the ‘train-the-trainer’ model where the participant becomes the subject matter expert and will be able to train colleagues.

Participants will learn about designing blended experiences, content, communication and collaboration, and online assessment and feedback. There will also be a strong focus on building engagement online with students throughout the course.

This course is suitable for school leaders and teachers of rural and regional Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) students currently or planning to be involved in virtual or blended teaching.

This course is offered as an optional professional development opportunity and to support participation, we are offering CRT reimbursements for up to 4 hours per participant.

More information about the course can be found here.

'I found this program highly informative and allowed me the opportunity to have in-depth conversations with peers around how to improve a digital learning presence for both content delivery and the user experience.'

'Best professional learning I have done in years. The content was guided by strong empirical research, everything was modelled in an exemplary way and the content was highly engaging. Mike and Michael are excellent presenters. I have already changed some of my classroom practices and shared professional learnings with colleagues.'

'I particularly enjoyed taking part in this course because I could see how I could apply the things we studied to my work.  Although before completing the course, I thought I was doing my best in my online course-writing, post the course, I felt equipped with new confidence.  Thank you for an interesting and beneficial course!'

'The course was super helpful and the resources being accessible for us to download has made it so we could absorb and engage with the sessions without having to worry about taking notes or trying to remember everything. Very helpful program and I have learned a lot, thanks!'
