The 2023 Graduate Teacher Conferences (GTCs) are open for registration. Teachers in their first 2 years of teaching and those returning to the profession are invited to attend.

This year, the GTC theme is ‘Connection. Insight. Growth.’

These free, one-day conferences are being held in Term 2, 2023, in each of the department’s 17 areas across Victoria. They will provide a forum to:

  • learn practical strategies for the classroom
  • make connections, share practice and celebrate successes
  • unpack strategies to support wellbeing
  • develop professionally by identifying what excites, sustains, challenges and drives you as an educator.

Event details including scheduling, the conference program and registration information are available on our Graduate Teacher Conferences web page.

Teachers are encouraged to attend their local session to enhance connections with teachers in neighbouring schools and hear from their own area executive director.

Before registering, teachers should discuss their attendance with their principal as maintaining face-to-face learning remains the priority.

Conferences hit the mark

The GTCs consistently receive great feedback from the teachers who attend.

‘The conference gave me the opportunity to discuss [my practice] and have professionals give their opinions and possible solutions. Everyone was very respectful and kind about sharing and giving advice,’ a 2022 GTC participant said.
