Legacy's annual ANZAC commemoration service for students will be held on Wednesday 5 April 2023, in the lead-up to this year's ANZAC day.
The commemoration service honours Australia's service men and women and is run by the charitable organisation, Legacy, which celebrates its centenary in 2023.
Legacy provides essential social, financial and developmental support to partners and children of veterans who gave their lives or health serving Australia.
The event will include student guest speakers, school bands, Defence Force cadets, dignitaries and a RAAF fly-over. It will be supported by the Governor of Victoria and patron of Legacy, the Honourable Linda Dessau AC.
Students attending the service are encouraged to honour relatives who served by wearing their medals on their right-hand side.
Each school is invited to nominate 2 students per year level to lay a floral tribute during the ceremony.
After the special Legacy commemoration service, you and your students are invited inside the Shrine of Remembrance to view the Shrine Crypt and Galleries of Remembrance.
Volunteers and staff will be positioned throughout the Shrine to engage with and answer students' questions.
Date: Wednesday 5 April 2023
Time: 11 am (seated by 10:45 am)
