We're encouraging teachers and students to go 'wild about reading' this year and take part in the 2023 Premiers' Reading Challenge.

Students are invited to register for the challenge and read books from the book list, or of their own choice, until the challenge finishes on Friday 8 September 2023.

Head to the Premiers' Reading Challenge website if you need to brush up on:

The Premiers' Reading Challenge started in 2005 and has helped teachers and parents motivate more than 4 million children to read more than 57 million books.

This year's theme, 'wild about reading', aims to motivate children and students to let their imaginations run wild with every page and chapter.

This year's Premiers' Reading Challenge author and ambassador, George Ivanoff, has written more than 100 books for children and young people. He is well known for his 'You Choose' series, along with his non-fiction Survival Guides.

Our illustrator for 2023 is the talented Victorian-based Kate Isobel Scott. Kate is well known for her colourful, quirky and sometimes wonky hand-made characters. Her beautiful illustrations have been used on stickers, checklists, bookmarks, posters and more.

Head to the communication resources page to access resources you can use to get your students excited about this year's Premiers' Reading Challenge.

The 2023 Premiers' Reading Challenge is sponsored by Penguin Random House.
