A range of resources is now available to help schools recognise the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA), happening on Friday 18 March 2022.
The NDA is Australia's main bullying prevention initiative. It is an opportunity for your school community to send a powerful message that bullying and violence are not okay, and promote your school's bullying prevention strategies.
The 2022 NDA theme is Kindness Culture. Building a culture of kindness can help prevent bullying. It also promotes inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging.
Get involved
Your school can get involved and celebrate the NDA in many ways.
Bullying. No Way! provides a virtual event toolkit to help you promote the NDA in your school.
2022 NDA school event toolkit
The school event toolkit includes materials to help your school run virtual events, including social media content, resources, lesson plans, classroom activities, and more.
It also includes an animation series of videos: Be kind online. These teach students what to do if they see or experience cyberbullying.
There are 4 videos in the series for students in grades 3 to 6 and years 7 to 12. Use them to complement the lesson plans and whole-school activities in the toolkit.
Help students support each other
An upstander is a person who speaks or acts in support of an individual or cause, particularly someone who intervenes on behalf of a person being bullied.
The I have your back video series shares how upstanders can help when it comes to bullying. It features players from the Melbourne Football Club and students from Victorian government schools.
