The Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership (the Academy) knows the value of an amazing teacher, and works with dedicated educators to make a positive impact on students' lives.

The Academy recently sat down with Ailsa Goding, a 2023 Teaching Excellence Program (TEP) participant from Wonthaggi Primary School, who shared her passion for education with us.

We invite you to watch this video and consider highly skilled teachers you know who could contribute to and benefit from a year in the TEP. Applications will open in July 2023.

Highly skilled and knowledgeable teachers can self-nominate and be nominated by others for the TEP 2024 intake.

Coaching with Confidence

Grow your leadership capability through strengthening your skills in coaching individuals and teams.

This program is designed for Victorian government school middle leaders, leading teachers, learning specialists, school principals and assistant principals. It is available on select dates in Term 2 and Term 3, 2023. It comprises 3 online workshops and individual coaching.

Collaborating with Data

Explore practical tools and sustainable methods for boosting student learning confidence and academic achievement by using collaborative techniques.

This webinar is designed for Victorian government school middle leaders, leading teachers, learning specialists, school principals and assistant principals. It is available on select Term 2, 2023 dates and comprises 3 sessions of 180 minutes.

Impact: Emerging Leaders

Enhance your leadership skills and learn to effectively influence student outcomes in your school.

This program is designed for Victorian government school teachers and teacher leaders who have recently commenced or are about to commence a formal or informal leadership role. This is a blended program comprising 8 sessions.

Lead, Empower and Thrive with Emotional Intelligence

Uncover the power of emotional intelligence to boost your leadership abilities and improve the overall culture and wellbeing of your school.

This webinar is designed for middle leaders, leading teachers, learning specialists, school principals and assistant principals in Victorian government schools. It is available on select Term 3, 2023 dates and comprises 6 sessions of 120 minutes.

Literacy and Numeracy Series

This series is designed for principals, classroom teachers, teacher leaders and teaching teams in primary, secondary and specialist schools. It is presented through a series of webinars over a duration of either 5 weeks or 2 months.

Thought Leadership Series

The webinars in the Thought Leadership Series showcase leading experts from around the world, sharing their latest research, big ideas, and innovations. Presenters include Viviane Robinson, Andy Hargreaves, Helen Cahill and Yong Zhao.

This series is designed for early childhood educators, principals, classroom teachers, teacher leaders, teaching teams and system leaders in primary, secondary and specialist schools. The webinars are available on select Term 2, 2023 dates and are all 90 minutes long.

Victorian Aspiring Principal Assessment (VAPA)

Take part in a strengths-based assessment that will help ensure you have the necessary support and preparation to be appointed to a principal role.

The VAPA is open to all school leaders, aspiring principals and past principals in government and non-government schools. People from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

This online and blended assessment program takes place over a minimum 5-week duration.
