Updated Child Information Sharing Scheme resources

Access resources to support children's wellbeing and safety, and help explain the scheme to families

We have developed new online resources to support schools as they implement the Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS). The CISS allows school staff and other authorised professionals who work with children, young people and their families to share information with each other to promote children's wellbeing and safety.

These resources will help teachers and other professionals explain CISS to school communities, supporting them to build and maintain trusting relationships with young people and families.

After consulting with young people, parents and carers, we have updated our CISS webpages with information that helps to answer any questions and concerns they may have about CISS. The new resources include printable flyers and factsheets, and materials designed for First Nations peoples.

You can also refer to videos from prominent educators that further explain how CISS is supporting child wellbeing and safety.

To access the resources, please go to the Child Information Sharing homepage.

Strong participation from schools

Recently, almost 1,400 Victorian school leaders completed training in the Child and Family Violence Information Sharing Schemes as part of the Term 4 Principal Forums. This means nearly every Victorian government school will have someone leading these critical reforms.

We thank the school leaders and principals who joined these training sessions at one of 17 area forums held across the state in October and November 2022.

You can continue to access free training through the Information Sharing and MARAM Online Learning System.

Through this training you will learn how CISS can be used to help you support the wellbeing and safety of your students.

To enrol, select the 'Education Workforces' tile and choose the Information Sharing for Education Workforces webinar or one of the eLearning options.

Otherwise, you can organise a tailored information sharing training session for your team by contacting the Information Sharing Implementation team by email: childinfosharing@education.vic.gov.au
