The 2022 Victorian Teachers' Games (VTG) successfully returned to Geelong after a 2-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

With more than 1,800 registered participants, the games brought educators from across the state together for 4 days of sporting competition, from Sunday 18 to Wednesday 21 September 2022.

Run by School Sport Victoria, this year marked the 25th anniversary of the VTG. To mark the occasion, the event returned to the original host city of Geelong.

Restored to its spiritual home, the festival of wellbeing provided almost 50 different events across 30 of the town's sporting venues and facilities. The extensive program included netball, lawn bowls, laser skirmish, dodgeball, archery battle, an Amazing Race and more.

VTG in 2023 and 2024

Latrobe City has been announced as the host for the 2023 and 2024 games, which will take participants to venues across the townships of Traralgon, Moe and Morwell.

The 2023 games will run from Sunday 17 to Wednesday 20 September 2023.

Moving to a new regional location every 2 years, VTG has helped to showcase regional centres across Victoria throughout the event's 25-year history.

Further details regarding event, schedules, registrations and more will be made available in early 2023. You can join the VTG mailing list to receive updates.

About VTG

The games encourage all Victorian education staff to relax, join in a variety of competitive and social sporting activities, connect with peers and be inspired to make physical activity a part of their lives.

The games also provide an opportunity to travel outside your region and meet fellow educators and department colleagues from across the state.

Participants say the games are a unique way to build team morale while also enhancing staff health and wellbeing.
